‘Swachch Bharat Abhiyan’ is a great initiative of the Indian Government that has spread across the country in the last few years. Keeping pace with the movement, Laureate Institute of Education and Training, Bharari, Shimla, organized a campaign called ‘Swachchta hi Seva’ (SHS). The campaign started on 15 September and will continue till 2 October, celebrated as Gandhi Jayanti, in memory of the Father of the Nation who dreamt of a clean India.
The staff and students of the school have shown keen interest in the movement. Class rooms and the school campus was cleaned by them and a pledge towards a cleaner nation was taken. Principal Seema Sharma, staff and students promised to help build a cleaner India. They ascertained that they would spread awareness about the campaign and ensure that the movement is carried forward from their campus to the city and the state as well.
Indeed a praiseworthy attempt as the school hopes to intensify the focus on cleanliness and create a spirit across the country, turning it into a mass movement.
