The Sesquicentennial Founder’s Day Celebrations were held here today at the Auckland House School. The programme commenced with a prayer service followed by a short entertainment programme by the students. The old girls joined in the celebrations in large numbers sharing their stories and memories of the school. The alumnae took the revelry a step further by forming the Auckland House Alumina Association. Mrs. Chander Prabha Chawla was unanimously elected the President of the same.
The prayer service was followed by a multimedia audio visual presentation by Chandni Luthra, which showcased the history of the school since its inception in 1866. The old girls whole heartedly participated in the day’s celebrations by performing on the stage as well. On the eve of the Founder’s Day, the school had organised a Rock Show by Raghu Dixit Project, a musician and singer par excellence. The crowds swayed to the rhythm, harmony and foot-tapping numbers.
The celebrations came to a close with a bonfire wherein retro music and songs added colour and life to the festivities.
