To mark the celebration of Annual Day, little tiny tots of Orchid Prep School, New Shimla organized a grand cultural function at the historic Gaiety Theater, Shimla, here today. Rani Pratibha Singh, Vice Chairperson H.P. Red Cross Society and Ex. Member Parliament, graced the occasion as the chief guest. After witnessing the show staged by the little ones she praised the staff and children. She appreciated the collective efforts put in by the all to make show a grand success.
During the event little ones were seen dancing to songs like Barbie Girl, India Waale and Senorita. A breathtaking cute performance by the students showcasing their acting talent in a play Sleeping Beauty was appreciated by all. A special dance performance on the song Oh Khuda Khan Hai Tu by gifted children made everyone overwhelmed with joy.
The cultural program ended with a meaningful dance performance by a teacher and underprivileged student highlighting the important issue of save girl child.
School Principal Neelam Vij while speaking on the occasion said, “The Annual Day is highly awaited event as it is the day when even the parents are invited to watch proudly their children
participating in various activities or working hard on the stage. One can say that the preparation for this occasion goes as the year begins.”
“The Orchid Prep School is a play school where we have children in the age group of 2.5 to 4.5 years. Our motto is to nurture, support, guide, encourage, and foster a child’s sense of well-being and belonging, promote contribution, extend communication and enhance exploration particularly by being good role models and innovative facilitators. Our programmes intend to guide, encourage and support children into acknowledging their full potential. Attitude and habits are formed very early in one’s life. What children learn in their impressionable childhood years stays with them throughout their lives. And, children as we all know constitute the future of a Nation. The educational journey at the Orchid Prep School then goes beyond imparting knowledge. Through carefully planned, inter-disciplinary scholastic and co-scholastic programmes, we endeavor to equip our learners with necessary life skills and values that help them to face challenges of life in a confident and courageous manner”, she added further.
“As an extension of our school we have started Arushi School of Hope — A School for Special and Under Privileged Children. Although it is just a humble beginning in this field, the students are less in number. We have engaged trained staff to handle these children”, she further informed.

First – Advika Kaushik, Play Recitation; Second – Kevin Dhari, Play Recitation; First – Anya Swan, Pre Nursery Recitation; First – Aradhya, Pre-Nursery Colouring; First – Krishita Dixit, Pre Nursery, Recitation; Second / First – Navya Nahata, Pre Nursery, Recitation and Fancy Dress; Second / Consolation – Nivaan Chopra, Pre Nursery, Recitation and Fancy Dress; First – Anvi Sharma, Nursery Fancy Dress, Recitation; Second – Raunaq S Grover, Nursery, Recitation; First – Khushwant Sharma, Class I, Fancy Dress; Second – Satvik Chandel, Class I, Recitation.
Whereas in Arushi Shining Stars – First – Sahenoor, Pre Nursery, Recitation; Second – Arushi Sharma, Pre Nursery, Recitation; First – Piyush Khardia, Nursery, Fancy Dress; First – Anjel Paul, Nursery, Dance on Female Feticide Stood.
The day ended with a happy note as everyone had a warm and big smile on their face and took back sweet memories to cherish for lifetime.
