Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today virtually presided over the Mahila Swabhiman Diwas programme organized on the occasion of International Women’s Day by Adarshni Welfare Society at Cholthara, Dharampur in district Mandi from Shimla. While felicitating the women, the Chief Minister said that this day is an occasion to reiterate our resolve to ensure dignity and prosperity of women. He said that the State Government is fully committed towards empowerment of women and has been giving priority to women in various schemes. The state Government has launched Mukhyamantri Swavalamban Yojana for economic empowerment of women. The Chief Minister said that 32 thousand self-help groups have been constituted under the National Rural Livelihood Mission and more than 2 lakh 50 thousand women are involved in it.
Mukhyamantri Mahila Sashaktikaran Yojana has been announced in the Budget 2022-23, to provide assistance to women. Under this, a one-time additional amount of Rs.25 thousand will be given as revolving fund to the self-help group associated with the village organization as a top-up. Jai Ram Thakur said that an increase of Rs. 1700 has been provided to Aanganwari workers, with which they would now be provided with monthly wages of Rs. 9000. With a monthly increase of Rs. 900, Mini Anganwadi workers would now be provided Rs. 6100. By including this increase, the state government has increased by Rs. 3100 per month in its present tenure. With an increase of Rs. 900 per month, Anganwari Sahika will now be provided honorarium of Rs. 4700 per month. By including this increase, Rs. 2600 per month has been increased by the state government in its current tenure. Asha worker will be given an honorarium of Rs. 4700 per month with an increase of Rs. 1825.
The Chief Minister appreciated the various efforts being made by the Adarshni Welfare Society in the direction of social welfare. He said that this organization has done remarkable work even during the Corona crisis. Jal Shakti Minister Mahendra Singh Thakur lauded the role of women in the development of Dharampur. He said that the daughters of this region are bringing laurels to the State and Dharampur by working in various fields across the country. President of Adarshni Welfare Society, Vandana Guleria welcomed the Chief Minister and gave detailed information about the various activities of the organization. She said that all round development of women is being ensured through various schemes being implemented by the State Government. Jal Shakti Minister Mahendra Singh Thakur and Wool Federation President Trilok Kapoor were present in Shimla along with the Chief Minister on this occasion. President of Himachal Pradesh State Red Cross Society, Hospital Welfare Section Dr. Sadhna Thakur, President of Special Olympics Dr. Mallika Nadda, Mridula Pradhan, Rashmi Dhar Sood, Kangana Ranaut, senior officers Kumud Singh and Prabha Rajiv participated in the program through virtual medium. State Women’s Commission Chairperson Dr. Daisy Thakur, Vandana Guleria, senior officers and other dignitaries were present in the program organized at Cholthara.
