Schools are the best place for any child to learn and grow and some days become even more memorable when special events take place. Students of Himalayan Public School, Kaithu, Shimla marked their Founder’s Day on 8th May, 2018. During the celebrations, students were given an opportunity to exhibit their talent in different activities and competitions like face painting, sports, painting, slogan writing, chess, carom, table tennis colouring the image, rangoli making and fruits and vegetable carvings.
Students from all classes took part in the aforesaid activates and had a gala time. The atmosphere of the entire school was filled with the air of creativity and joy where each child showed their supportive spirit as they competed in various competitions.
School Principal Bandana Goswami speaking on the occasion said, “Founder’s Day celebration is about giving students a memory to cherish for rest of their lives. All studies and no play makes life boring for students so this time we planned a cultural programme we organize different activities and competitions that can tick children’s creativity as well as enthusiasm.”
“There are students who are not so good with studies but when it comes to games or crafts they outshine all the bright students. We believe that they all should be given a fair chance to celebrate their time of glory too”, she added further.
Students used their creative wings to fly as they painted faces to depict characters like Krish, Skulls, Fairy and many other things. When it came to crafting fruits and vegetables, they made beautiful kettles, penguins, whales and many other things to name.
The rangolies, may that be a peacock or may other geometrical shape spoke volumes of their patience and creativity as they were made with great neatness. Students had used raw material like coloured rice with and pulses.
