MartialArts (3)Day two of the All India Open Martial Arts & Skating Gold Cup is being organized by HS Sports Academy, Punjab, ended on a high note with loud cheers and merriment as the participants received their medals and certificates. However, there were few tears and disappointments as those who lost, vied to come back strong and prepare hard for the next tournament. The morning began on a sunny note which brought cheers among the participant who was all eager to perform and give in their best.

MartialArts (23)The first competition was for under-four years boys, who geared up to run the 500 meters race. What followed next was just grit and sheer determination to win the races. Both boys and girls did their part of competing in various categories — quad, inline, adjustable, professional — in their respective age groups.

The second event of the day was the Martial Arts competition, where the children displayed there agility and technical skills to beat their opponents. Team from different states participated under the able-guidance of their coaches namely, Naresh Kumar from Haryana; Harish Sharma and Harpreet Kaur from Panjab; and Inderjit Kumar from Chandigarh. Team Panjab comprised of Ramandeep, Simranjeet, Amandeep, Navdeep, Sukhchain, Anmol among others. Participants from team Chandigarh were Aditya, Somil, Ravi, Raghav, Sanket; Haryana were Navneet, Yashveer, Rajbeer, Manveer and Gurjot.

Punjab team won 11 gold medal in this competition

President of the Academy Sukhvir Singh said, that we organize this event every year in different states to encourage children to take this sport seriously. The growing interest in Skating and Martial Arts among children should be promoted by conducting more and more competitions. Through this platform we wish to give India its best athletes in this sporting event and hope that the number of participants will increase every year. This year the participants were from Harayana, Punjab, Chandigarh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Utter Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan States.  He further thanked the Auckland House School Director-Principal Sunita John who provided them with the venue and his team of organizers for successfully conducting the event.
