Principal Secretary, Technical Education, Vocational and Industrial Training, Dr. Abhishek Jain, reviewed academic, administrative, research and infrastructure development at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Institute of Engineering and Technology (ABVGIET), Pragatinagar, during his visit on Friday.
Interacting with faculty and staff of the Engineering, Polytechnic and ITI wings, Dr. Jain chaired a review meeting and stressed the need to raise academic standards, strengthen research and innovation, improve infrastructure and promote the overall development of students.
He directed the institute to strengthen human resources, make effective use of the Student Welfare Fund, upgrade the Central Library with additional books and digital resources, modernize laboratories and establish an advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) lab. He also emphasized encouraging quality research by providing incentives for publications in peer-reviewed journals.
To enhance students’ learning experience, Dr. Jain called for greater industry exposure through educational and industrial visits, regular faculty mentoring, personality development and soft skills training, along with initiatives such as a Topper Gallery to recognize academic excellence.
He also instructed the institute to upgrade classrooms, improve sports facilities, establish an indoor gymnasium, develop a greener campus and maintain high standards of cleanliness. Faculty members were encouraged to secure research grants from national agencies and strengthen collaboration with industry.
Dr. Jain said ABVGIET should work towards becoming a centre of excellence in technical education by promoting innovation, research, industry partnerships and efficient use of available resources.
