Shimla Nursing College Marks Graduation with Joyful Farewell

Shimla Nursing College–Shurala bid an emotional farewell to its graduating students of B.Sc Nursing, General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM), and Post Basic B.Sc Nursing (PBSC) programs through a vibrant function themed “NOS VEMOS – Finding Good in Goodbyes.”

The ceremony was graced by esteemed Chief Guest Dr. Yash Pal (CMO, DDU Shimla), Guest of Honour Dr. Rahul Rao (MS, IGMC Shimla), and Leelavati (NS, AIMSS Chamiyana), along with matrons from KNH, AIMSS & IGMC Shimla and members of the college management.

The event began with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony, symbolizing the triumph of knowledge over ignorance. Senior students received a warm welcome, and dignitaries were felicitated in appreciation of their presence and support.

The farewell featured a lively cultural program, where junior students performed a mix of traditional and modern dances, setting an emotional and celebratory tone for the day.

A highlight of the event was the academic excellence awards, where top performers from each program were honored by the dignitaries for their dedication and achievements in nursing education.

Adding charm to the evening, a farewell contest celebrated the spirit, personality, and grace of the outgoing batch. The titles awarded were as follows:

  • Miss Farewell: Ruchika (GNM 3rd Year)

  • 1st Runner-up: Garima Kapoor (B.Sc 4th Year)

  • 2nd Runner-up: Priya Kaushal (GNM 3rd Year)

  • Ms. Personality: Santosh (B.Sc 4th Year)

  • Ms. Eve: Mehak (B.Sc 4th Year)

The event concluded on an emotional note, as faculty and students shared heartfelt goodbyes and cherished memories, marking the end of one chapter and the beginning of another in the lives of the graduating students.
