StThomas.27.8 (13)It was a true Artventure at St Thomas School, Shimla as the students showcased the best that can be crafted out of waste material. An endeavour undertaken by the school as per the CBSE pattern, there were on display some wonderful items made of old plastic bottles, CDs, shuttle cocks and pieces of rags.

The guest of honour, Madhu Sharma, In-charge Skill Development, St Thomas was pleased to see the effort put in by the staff and students. There were flower pots made of oStThomas.27.8 (6)ld bottles, CDs turned to beautiful wall hangings, candle stands and juice glasses crafted from plastic bottles, peacocks made of shuttle cocks, wool put to effective use, tie and dye,  tile paintings and more.

In an age when one must strive to avoid wastefulness it is indeed a great means of teaching children the art of developing something innovative and useful so that they learn to make the most of what they have!
