The Jal Shakti Vibhag has released a fresh weekly water supply schedule for various zones of Shimla city, effective from Monday to Sunday. The schedule outlines the specific days each locality will receive water supply – a crucial update for all city residents.
More Areas to Get Water 5 to 7 Days a Week
According to the new schedule, areas like Brockhurst, Jeevanu Colony, Parimahal, Taland, Shakral, Verma Apartment, Upper Khalini, and Kusumpti will now receive daily water supply, i.e., 7 days a week. Other zones such as Mall Road, Ram Bazaar, Sanjauli, Chakkar, Tutikandi, Navbharat, Dhalli Tunnel, and Kufri have also seen improved distribution frequency.
Some Areas Still on Limited Water Days
Localities like Dadni, Lakkar Bazaar, Charan House, Ram Nagar, Ghoda Chowki, Lower Bazaar, and Kaithu will still receive water only on selected days, so residents are advised to use water wisely and maintain storage accordingly.
88 Localities Covered in Total
The schedule covers 88 areas, divided into zones like Central Zone, Chhota Shimla Zone, Lakkar Bazaar Zone, New Shimla Zone, and Sanjauli Zone.
As per the update:
- Water will be supplied to 49 areas on Monday.
- Tuesday sees the highest coverage with 78 localities.
- Wednesday and Friday will have water supply in 77 areas.
- Saturday supply is planned for 76 areas.
- 60 areas will receive water on Sunday.
