Adventure, learning, and camaraderie marked another vibrant day at HIMTREK-1 2026, being organized by 1 HP Girls Battalion NCC Solan under the aegis of Group Headquarters NCC Shimla. The expedition continued to witness spirited participation from NCC cadets and staff representing directorates from across the country.
Cadets were divided into two groups for the day’s activities. Group A, comprising participants from the Uttarakhand and Rajasthan Directorates along with the Shimla Group of PHHP&C Directorate, embarked on a trek to Tara Devi before visiting the Science Museum, where interactive exhibits offered an engaging learning experience and exposure to scientific concepts.
Meanwhile, Group B, consisting of cadets from the Punjab & Chandigarh Group of PHHP&C Directorate, Jammu & Kashmir Directorate, and Delhi Directorate, undertook a trek to Vaknaghat, navigating picturesque trails while strengthening their endurance, leadership abilities, and team spirit.
The evening witnessed a lively atmosphere as cadets took part in recreational and team-building activities, followed by rehearsals for the forthcoming cultural competitions. The preparations highlighted the expedition’s core values of national integration, cultural exchange, and unity in diversity.
Appreciating the cadets’ dedication and discipline, Col Vivek Bhatara, Commanding Officer, 1 HP Girls Battalion NCC Solan, emphasized that initiatives like HIMTREK play a crucial role in nurturing adventure, leadership, self-confidence, and lasting bonds among young cadets from different regions of the country.
