Engaging Book Discussion & Poetry Session for Young Writers — 51 Scintillating Tales

Keekli Charitable Trust in association with the Academy of Art, Language and Culture organized a book discussion and a poem recitation event here today at the Rotary Town Hall, Shimla. The day was an eventful one as children got a deeper insight into their stories as the learned guests namely, Srinivas Joshi, Dr. Harshvardhan Singh and Dr. Vidhya Nidhi Chhabra not only reviewed the stories but also gave a new dimension to each one of them.

During the lively session, the selected a few writers of the book 51 Scintillating Tales – Short Stories by Children read their stories, namely Laavanya Muni, Ananya Thakur, Sirisha Chauhan, Amiti Verma, Jiya Rampal Saini, Sanghavi Kapoor and Aarzu Kumra, which were discussed by the panel as they gave important inputs and critiqued it. The young writers got a new outlook towards how their stories could have been penned in order to make them more impactful. Various tips were shared by the panel regarding the power of words and how to blend them into a new tone

The second part of the event was a poetry session as young kids took the podium to read their amazing creations. Tanishq read – Beauty & The Beast; Nityam – Dad; Lavanya Muni — True Content; Swapnil — Cycle of Time; Aahr — He Left; Surbhi — New Start; Ipsita – Soldier; Ananya – Azaadi; Sirisha — I Am Winter; and Pritha read a poem on Holocaust. The evening ended on a positive note as children promised to return with new stories and continue to write armed with the new knowledge they gained today.
