On 31st October 2026, Loreto Convent School, Tara Hall, Shimla, transformed into a hub of innovation as it hosted Kaushal Mela 2026, a vibrant platform celebrating experiential learning. Setting an inspiring tone, the mela was inaugurated by eight young achievers—Palkin, Plaksha, Emrin, and Anha from the Junior Section, along with Sanskriti, Rhea, Manmahkash, and Bhavya Sharma from the Senior Section.
Departments across the school brought classroom concepts to life through practical exhibits. The English Department, led by Class IX Rose, created the Loreto Bulletin—a fast-paced newsroom giving students hands-on experience in journalism and anchoring. Meanwhile, the Hindi Department showcased CareerWheel, exploring how literary creativity opens up professional career paths.
The STEM exhibits offered a impressive glimpse into the future. Science projects featured green innovations like hydroponics, wind farms, automated streetlight sensors, and visionary models like Clean and Green Shimla and the Jeevan Rakshak Smart House. The Mathematics Department presented working models of a robotic crane, loader, and smart logistics warehouse, while the IT Department impressed with an interactive Smart Supermarket platform, ultrasonic blind-spot sensors, and a BMI Calculator.
Artistic and cultural heritage took center stage as well. The Social Sciences Department highlighted Himachal Pradesh’s rich legacy alongside eco-friendly solutions like rainwater harvesting and waste management. Providing a lively backdrop, the Music Department performed soulful melodies, while the Dance Department celebrated India’s diversity through eight traditional and classical dance forms.
Kaushal Mela 2026 was a true celebration of learning by doing. By honing teamwork, critical thinking, and communication skills, the event reinforced Loreto Convent’s dedication to holistic development—preparing students to become confident, creative, and responsible individuals.
