The newly elected executive committee of Press Club of Shimla led by its President Ujjwal Sharma gave a courtesy call to Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at Raj Bhavan, today. Congratulating the newly elected members, the Governor urged them to contribute on various issues of social concern. He said that drug addiction was becoming a serious problem in Himachal Pradesh which was affecting the youth. He said that there was a need for awareness as well as action in this regard.

Expressing concern over landslides occurring in the State during the rainy season, he discussed with them about the various steps taken by him in this regard. He said that soon after the recommendations of the committee constituted by him, work would be started on it firmly. Appreciating the role of the club in the developmental activities, Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar said that if the club takes any initiative regarding social issues, he would contribute there.
