An engaging literary evening unfolded at Brews & Books Café, Mall Road, as the Keekli Charitable Trust hosted the book release and discussion of Feminine Lyre, the latest poetry collection by academician, poet, and former Principal Dr. Anita Sharma.
The event was graced by eminent litterateur Srinivas Joshi as Chief Guest, bringing added literary significance to the occasion. The discussion panel featured noted writers and thinkers including Dr. Usha Bande, Chriselle Fernandes, Senha Harnot, Bhavya Pathania, Priyam Raj, and Meera Goel, who delved into the book’s poetic depth, emotional texture, and contemporary relevance.
The newly released Feminine Lyre—the third in Dr. Sharma’s poetic trilogy after Teenage Lyre and Lockdown Lyre—presents a reflective 94-page journey into womanhood. The collection weaves together themes of identity, resilience, self-discovery, and inner strength, while capturing the evolving role of women in society. Inspired by the landscapes of Himachal Pradesh, the poems blend nature with introspection, offering a sensitive and powerful feminine perspective.
Drawing on her academic grounding and poetic finesse, Dr. Sharma crafts verses that are both lyrical and thought-provoking, resonating with contemporary social realities while celebrating emotional freedom and strength.
Speakers praised the collection for its elegance, emotional resonance, and insightful portrayal of women’s lived experiences, calling it a noteworthy contribution to modern Indian English poetry.
The event saw active participation from writers, educators, students, and literature enthusiasts. It concluded with an interactive session between the author and the audience, followed by a vote of thanks to the Keekli Charitable Trust and the Book Club for hosting the literary gathering.
Feminine Lyre emerged as a heartfelt poetic tribute to feminine identity—echoing strength, reflection, and the quiet power of resilience.
