Management of St. Thomas School, Shimla, organized the Annual Prize Distribution ceremony for the senior students of Classes IX to XII as Dr. Neelam Mattu, a Senior Research Scientist, Department of Biological Sciences, Himachal Pradesh University, presided as the chief guest for the function. School Principal Vidhupriya Chakravarthy highlighted the annual activities of the school as she presented the annual report.

In view of the 75th celebration of Amrit Mahotsav of our nation, a play titled ‘Train to Pakistan’ was staged by the students, in which an attempt was made to show the carnage, pain, separation, loss of life and tragedy during the partition of India and Pakistan.

School Choir Subhashish presented a praise and worship hymn during the event. Apart from this a Pushpanjali (an offering of flowers) dance was presented in which three forms of dances were depicted which included Kathak, Odissi and Bharatanatyam.

Thereafter students that excelled in various academic and non-academic activities were awarded tokens by the Chief Guest and the School Principal.

The chief guest Dr Mattoo motivated the students to work hard in life and bring good results. She also appreciated the performances of the participants and was moved by the enthralling performance of the students performing the play.

Principal Chakravarthy while addressing the students said that every year the school is making more and more progress. Be it the annual result or any activity, the students of the school participate in all the competitions and bring good results. She also inspired the students to be a good person in their life and always work hard to achieve their set goals.
