Himachal Pradesh has another reason to celebrate as two promising young ice skaters, Samarth Attri and Tejasvi Kuthiala, have been selected to represent India at the Asian Short Track Ice Skating Trophy 2026, marking a significant milestone in their sporting journeys.
A Class 10 student of Auckland House School (Boys), Shimla, Samarth Attri—whose ancestral roots are in Hamirpur—has emerged as one of the state’s brightest sporting talents. His selection is the result of years of unwavering dedication, perseverance, and disciplined training at the iconic Shimla Ice Skating Rink, where he has been honing his skills for the past six to seven years under the expert guidance of coach Pankaj Prabhakar.
Samarth recently impressed at the 21st National Short Track Ice Skating Championship held in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. His exceptional performance was further reinforced during the National Training Camp that followed, earning him a coveted place in the Indian team for the prestigious Asian championship.
Joining him on the international stage is Tejasvi Kuthiala, a talented student of Auckland House School (Girls), Shimla. She also delivered an impressive performance at the national championship and training camp, securing her selection to represent the country at the continental event.
The achievement has filled their families, schools, coaches, and the entire Shimla community with pride. Their success reflects years of hard work, determination, and an unyielding passion for the sport.
