The Himachal Pradesh State Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, recently announced several decisions in its meeting. Here are the key highlights of the meeting: (Himachal Pradesh Cabinet )

Recruitment of 530 Lecturers

Firstly, the Cabinet approved the filling up of 530 posts of Lecturer (School New) of different subjects through direct recruitment. This move is expected to strengthen the education system in the state and provide job opportunities to qualified individuals.

Amendment to Town and Country Planning Rules (Himachal Pradesh Cabinet )

However, in order to facilitate the general public, the Cabinet approved the amendment of Himachal Pradesh Town and Country Planning Rules, 2014, to make attic floor habitable. This decision will enable individuals to make better use of the available space in their homes.

Recruitment on Fixed Emoluments

Furthermore, the Cabinet approved the proposal to make suitable amendments to the R& P Rules under Rule-4 and Rule 15-A. Again, this will allow for recruitment on fixed emoluments, with the length of contractual service and emoluments to be notified by the government from time to time.

Recruitment of Deputy Superintendent of Police

Moreover, the Cabinet also approved the filling up of two posts of Deputy Superintendent of Police on a regular basis through direct recruitment on the basis of HPAS Combined Competitive Examination. Additionally, this decision will strengthen the law enforcement system in the state.

Amendment to Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Rules (Himachal Pradesh Cabinet )

However, the Cabinet decided to amend Rule 50 of the Himachal Pradesh Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Rules, 1989. As a step towards increasing revenue, the annual license fee under this Rule will be Rs. 1,50,000.

Covid-19 Situation Presentation

Overall, the Cabinet was also presented with an update on the Covid-19 situation in the state. The presentation highlighted the current status of the pandemic and the measures being taken to control its spread. Therefore, the recent decisions taken by the Himachal Pradesh State Cabinet are expected to have a positive impact on the education system, law enforcement, and revenue generation in the state.
