President Murmu’s Four-Day Visit to Mashobra

President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Mashobra on Tuesday for a four-day visit. The primary purpose of her visit is to open the ‘Rashtrapati Niwas’ presidential retreat to the public. HP Daily News Bulletin 19/04/2023

Warm Welcome

Upon her arrival, President Murmu was welcomed by Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania, Education Minister Roihit Thakur, and other dignitaries. On the other hand, she was also accorded a guard of honour at Kalyani Helipad in Chharabra.

Opening of the Rashtrapati Niwas

One of the highlights of the President’s visit is the opening of the Rashtrapati Niwas to the public. This presidential retreat, located in Mashobra, has been used by Indian presidents since 1960.

Himachal Pradesh Government’s Plan for Eco-friendly State

Additionally, Himachal Pradesh government is committed to making the state an eco-friendly state. Recently, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu presided over a meeting of the Energy Department in Shimla to review the progress of various projects.

100 MW Uhl-III Hydro Power Project

During the meeting, the Chief Minister directed officials to make the 100 MW Uhl–III hydro power project functional by May 2023. He stressed the importance of completing the project within the stipulated time and promised the government’s full cooperation.

40% Financial Assistance for Solar Power Projects (HP Daily News Bulletin)

The Govt. aims to promote green energy, the state government will provide 40% financial assistance to prospective entrepreneurs from the state for setting up solar power projects of 100 KW to 2 MW capacity. The government will also provide hand-holding in financing their projects from the banks.

Setting Up of Six Green Corridors

A part from this, Chief Minister also reviewed the progress of setting up six green corridors in the state. Meanwhile,he directed officials to complete the tender process for all such projects by October this year. Charging stations infrastructure would be set up for approximately 1,600 kilometers length of these corridors, which would also include cities in the ambit of these corridors.

Target of Making Himachal Pradesh a Green Energy State (HP Daily News Bulletin )

Moreover, the government has set the target of making Himachal Pradesh a Green Energy State by March 2026. Meanwhile, Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to achieving this target.
