Bringing governance directly to the state’s most isolated corners, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu made a landmark visit to the remote hamlet of Kasha Pat in the Rampur Assembly constituency, following the ‘Sarkar Gaon Ke Dwar’ program at Bhatwari in Rohru. Marking a historic moment for the village, the Chief Minister spent the night at the residence of local resident Supan Das. The villagers warmly welcomed him with traditional musical instruments and folk attire, culminating in a vibrant cultural evening where CM Sukhu joined locals in dancing the traditional Nati.

Emphasizing that Himachal Pradesh cannot truly progress without the economic upliftment of its villages, the Chief Minister highlighted the government’s top priority to ensure remote hinterlands are not left behind in the development process. Addressing educational needs, CM Sukhu announced ₹2 crore for the construction of a new school building in Kasha Pat alongside plans for a village playground, reaffirming the state’s commitment to providing quality education close to home.

To resolve transportation challenges for school children and locals, efforts are underway to launch a dedicated bus service connecting Kasha Pat to Rampur via Taklech. To foster local entrepreneurship, the Chief Minister offered a 40 percent state subsidy for any resident purchasing a bus (up to ₹30 lakh) on this route, along with a monthly financial grant of ₹50,000 for five years. Furthermore, financial assistance was announced for Mahila Mandals—₹5 lakh for those without dedicated buildings and ₹1 lakh for existing units to acquire necessary equipment.

During the event, CM Sukhu highlighted upcoming social initiatives including the ‘Apna Parivar, Sukhi Parivar’ scheme, which will provide eligible women a monthly pension of ₹1,500, alongside interest subsidies for solar energy projects. Demonstrating support for sustainable tourism and livelihoods, he distributed homestay registration certificates to local residents and rewarded participants of cultural and artistic events. Villagers expressed deep appreciation, noting that the Chief Minister’s overnight stay and new infrastructure initiatives mark a transformative chapter for Kasha Pat.
