The whole school community celebrated 2023 Independence Day together with Old Cottonian – Chief Guest Mr Harish Janartha, MLA, Shimla. Mr Janartha was a previous school captain of BCS and he took time out from his current disaster meetings to come into school to hoist the flag.

The BCS brass band played their tunes joyfully and the NCC boys all looked so smart for the official flag hoisting ceremony with the whole school present. Afterwards the school had a Chapel Service where Mr Janartha asked the gathering to remember  those who have suffered locally in the Shimla area over the past few days and prayers were said by the Chaplain in their memory. One of the school’s cricket coaches Sanjeev Thakur was sadly one of those who is reported to have died during the Shimla temple landslide yesterday morning.
