Nikky Arts, an initiative by Neha Iqbal Grover and her partner Mohita Sharma, took a step towards undertaking philanthropic activities as they held drawing and Vedic Mathematics classes for the special children of Dumb and Deaf School Dhalli, here today in the school premises. Neha informed that during the workshop, she taught the children how to draw, and the use colours as the main focus was to cover their own school syllabus of arts, according to the instructions received from the School Principal Vinay Kumari.
The students of Class IX — Rahul Verma, Vinod Kumar, Abhishek Kumar, Abhishek Rana, Anshul Janmwal, Deepak, Dalip Singh, Gautam, Hemant Singh, Harish Kumar, Himanshu, Nitish Lakhanpal and Class X — Ajay, Avinash, Banti, Churamani, Deepak, Dinesh, Hemant, Hansraj, Jagdeesh, Mukesh, Mukesh, Nandraj, Niraj among others thoroughly enjoyed during this workshop.
The students of Classes VI to VIII were taught Vedic Maths by Mohita Sharma. With the help of the school teachers and use of signs and blackboard she taught the children specific multiplication techniques such as how to multiply two or three digit numbers by 11, quickly and easily. She informed that despite an hours’ session, the children were quite responsive and had lots of fun while learning about numbers.
Mohita and Neha usually hold paid workshops for children in the City at regular intervals but this gesture of theirs to make a difference in the lives of special was quite commendable. As per convenience and available schedule they will continue taking special classes for these children in future as well.
