All India Dulip Singh Memorial Hockey Tournament held at Bishop Cotton School

Bcs.29.10.15aThe 13th Edition of All India Dulip Singh Memorial Hockey Tournament commenced from 27th October, 2015 in Bishop Cotton School with great zeal and enthusiasm. Schools that came to participate in this prestigious competition were Bishop Cotton School, Shimla; Govt Sr Sec School, Sanjauli; The Lawrence School, Sanawar; Pinegrove School, Subathu; and Vasant Valley School, Delhi. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Brigadier Gyanodaya, Officer Commanding Group Commander 7 HPI NCC Shimla.

The first match of the day was held between hosts Bishop Cotton School and Lawrence School, Sanawar and the latter won the match by 3-1. The unmatchable winner of the competition was Lawrence, Sanawar who beat Govt Sr Sec School, Sanjauli by 2-1.

Bcs.29.10.15The tournament ended with a prize distribution by the chief guest. He complemented the school management for organizing the tournament and praised the efforts of the students. In his speech he regarded the sportsman spirit of the talented players and hard work of all the teams. The gripping final was a treat to watch for everybody including the chief guest. He applauded the performance of the players of Lawrence School Sanawar for their level of energy and skills on the field. He appreciated the efforts of Govt School Sanjauli for reaching the finals despite lack of proper coaching.

The winners of individual performance prizes were — Man of the Match: Abhijeet Ramesh, Lawrence School, Sanawar; Digvijay Singh from Pinegrove; Best Defender: Prabhat Aggarwal, Bishop Cottons; Best Goalkeeper: Tilak; Best Striker: Roshan; Best Midfielder: Aryan Chauhan; Player of the Tournament was Navpal Singh Khera from Bishop Cotton School, who scored seventeen goals in the tournament.
