The Junior Section Speech Day of Auckland House School for Boys was held in the school premises as Anu Sharma, Principal, Shimla Public School, presided as the chief guest on this occasion. The programme began with the lighting of the lamp followed by a melodious welcome song by the choir comprising of students from Form I and II. The students then performed an English play titled “Save Forest”, spreading the message how important it is to save trees and at the same time grow more trees for the benefit of the humans as well as animals. Their bold and cute performances won hearts of all.
The little boys then dazzled all with some amazing actions songs such as the ‘gummy bears, mummy daddy, ek anek, we can achieve, ek, do, teen’; and Rajasthani, Nepalese and Gujarati dances. Dressed in girls’ attire, the boys danced to perfect tunes and were applauded for their sweet performances. Yet, another treat was in form of a Hindi play ‘swachh paani’, wherein quite innocently they touched upon some very important issues affecting our society. A clear message was sent across that water is a necessity and efforts should be made to drink clean water and at the same time how politicians should take action in providing the basic necessities of life.
As the morning came to an end, School Principal Michael A. John read out the annual report of the school highlighting the achievements and laurels won by the school. The chief guest too lauded the efforts of the students and was highly impressed by the programme presented. She said, “Education begins at home, but the seeds are nurtured in a school as moral values, discipline and camaraderie imbibed in school goes a long way in shaping the future of a child. Children should always follow the 3Ds — devotion, discipline and dedication — and to be successful at anything thing they should believe in themselves”. She further appreciated the hard work and toil put in by the staff and students, which was followed by the prize distribution to the meritorious students (see video).
