A significant meeting of the District Child Protection Unit, Shimla WCD Department, was held at Portmore School, chaired by Alok Pathania Ji. The key agenda of the meeting was to establish a Ward Level Committee dedicated to the welfare of children.
The meeting saw the presence of esteemed individuals, including Legal Cum Probation Officer, Mrs. Bandana Bharti; Principal of Portmore Primary School, Mr. Sanjeev Jhistu; Social Worker from DCPU Shimla, and Supervisor, Mrs. Sushila Negi; along with Mrs. Kala Anganvaari from Kanlog, Mrs. Asha Jinda, Bhagat Singh, Atul Vohra, among others.
One of the primary focuses of the meeting was to discuss various schemes launched by the Himachal Pradesh government to aid helpless, orphaned, oppressed, and lost children. These initiatives aim to provide support and care to vulnerable children and create a safer environment for them.
A crucial decision taken during the meeting was to conduct awareness camps in the wards to educate the public about helping destitute children and addressing the issue of child suppression. These camps will play a pivotal role in spreading awareness and garnering support for the cause of child protection and welfare.
Through the establishment of the Ward Level Committee and the implementation of awareness camps, the District Child Protection Unit in Shimla is taking significant steps towards safeguarding the rights and well-being of children in distress.
