Shemrock Roses School in Kacchi Ghati, Shimla, marked Grandparents’ Day with grandeur and enthusiasm, as the school community gathered at the Kali Bari Mandir Hall on Saturday. The event was graced by the presence of Shimla’s Mayor, Surendra Chauhan, and Kacchi Ghati Parishad Kiran Sharma, who joined in the festivities.

Speaking on the occasion, the school’s Principal, Preeti Chuttani, emphasized the significance of Grandparents’ Day, a day dedicated to celebrating the wisdom and love of grandparents. She highlighted that grandparents play various roles in a child’s life, from being their library of life experiences to becoming their game partners and unwavering supporters. Their wealth of knowledge is unparalleled, and the ways they impart life’s lessons are unique.

Chuttani noted that grandparents often desire nothing more than spending quality time with their grandchildren and being part of their journey. Grandparents’ Day is a worldwide celebration of honoring their contributions to family life. She also shared the history of the day, mentioning that it was officially declared in 1979, celebrated in October.

The Grandparents’ Day celebration at Shemrock Roses School was filled with joy and heartwarming moments as all the grandparents, be it dada-dadi (paternal grandparents) or nana-nani (maternal grandparents), gathered at the Kali Bari Mandir Hall. The students of the school expressed their love and gratitude by presenting gifts to their grandparents, while in return, the grandparents showered their affection with tokens of love for the children.

Grandparents’ Day at Shemrock Roses School was not just a celebration but a tribute to the invaluable bonds between generations, reminding everyone of the enduring love and wisdom that grandparents impart to their grandchildren. In a world where family bonds are cherished, Shemrock Roses School’s Grandparents’ Day celebration stood as a testament to the importance of recognizing and honoring the pivotal role grandparents play in shaping the lives of their grandchildren.
