After years of experience as an accountant and an auditor with the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation, Ranjodh Singh finally found his calling when he resigned and joined as a teacher in Government Senior Secondary School, Dhundan. After that there was no looking back as this was a much satisfactory work profile, where he felt he could make a difference by influencing young minds to become good citizens. Taking charge of things he could control; Singh was thus a contented man. His persistence and life lesson paved way for many of his students to become officers and is now dearly remembered as a revered teacher.

In a candid interview which was held here today at Brews & Books Café, Shimla, Ranjodh Singh shared with Prachi, a Class 9 student of Auckland House School, that since 1996 to almost 2020, his focus had been on educating his students. But when Covid struck, it gave him a much-needed break and thereafter he was able to spend time on his writing.

He is passionate about writing poetry, short stories and essays. Singh also shared that his stories are based on real life incident and are full of irony and satire. The importance of expressing your feelings make your stories more realistic and at the same time the simplistic style adds an element of ease for the readers.
